First I would like to thank you all in advance for the help! My husband and I are planning to go somewhere for about a week. I was looking into Tahiti it looks beautiful but I havent read many good things about it! I would like to hear about both and get help we need to book within the next two weeks! Also I would like suggestions on hotels or the little huts! But I would like to stay in a pretty good price range!

I would recommend Raiatea or Huahine those islands are less visited yet have the feeling of paradiseThere’s a little island called Taha’a that could be visited from Uturoa (the main town in Raiatea).I stayed at the Bali Hai resorts on both islands. You can reserve bungalow huts at both places.
Just don’t expect to go surfing on these islands as they’re covered in by a reef created still shallow waters which are idyllic for snorkeling. The color variations of the little fish you’ll see are incredible. Then would you like to get real adventurous….then I recommend the "Marquesas Islands".
That’s like "paradise rediscovered". Hiva Oa is a beautiful island.
Tahiti itself is nice once you get away from Papeete (the main city). However, nothing can compare to Bora Bora. The lagoon is insanely blue and clear. You truly feel as if you’re in the middle of nowhere, yet you have all of these luxurious things at your fingertips.
We were only in Tahiti one night and we stayed at the Intercontinental. It was pretty nice, and it wasn’t too far from the airport which was convenient for us. We just stayed in a regular hotel room.
In Bora Bora we stayed at the Intercontinental Le Moana in a regular overwater bungalow. The prices increase if you want to stay in a bungalow that’s further out in the lagoon, but I didn’t feel like that was necessary. I don’t know what your price range is, but if you’re looking for a vacation on a budget it’s probably better if you skip Bora Bora. Our room was about $800 USD per night, and even the less expensive resorts on the island (like the Pearl) would still run about $500-600 per night.
Moorea is a beautiful island right across from Tahiti (it’s only a 30 minute ferry ride away). It’s got a lot of lush vegetation and beautiful, clear water. It’s also a lot cheaper than Bora Bora. I like that it wasn’t as commercial as Bora Bora. On Moorea we actually got to see the Milky Way at night, whereas on BB the hotel lights were so bright that we couldn’t see a thing. We stayed at the Intercontinental, which is on the quieter side of the island, and it was just perfect. Our beach bungalow was perfectly positioned and we had front-row seats to the most amazing sunsets.
There are other islands that are less expensive than Bora Bora, like Huahine and Raiatea, but are just as beautiful. I haven’t been there yet, but I hope to go some day.
If you want help planning your vacation, I would suggest you ask questions here: http://www.tahiti-explorer.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=cfrm I got a lot of information from the people there. TripAdvisor also has a pretty good forum.
