Moorea is beautiful, you’re going to love it there. We stayed at the Intercontinental in a beach bungalow and had such an amazing time. Unfortunately, their OWBs aren’t 100% over water (the back portion is on the beach, while the front part is over the lagoon). I’m not sure how important that is to you.
You might want to check out the Hilton. It has very good reviews on TripAdvisor and their rooms seem to be fully overwater.
On Moorea I highly recommend doing a 4×4 tour – we had so much fun on ours. We had a great dinner at Le Mayflower: http://www.restaurantmayflower.com/. We went to the Tiki Village Theatre for their Polynesian dance show, which was really good. We bought black pearls at Tahia Collins, which is right near Le Petit Village (there are also some small souvenir shops around there). Don’t bother going to Alfredo’s for dinner – it was terrible. If you can, check out the Intercontinental – they have a dolphin center (you can swim with the dolphins, or you can just walk by and see them) and also a sea turtle conservation area.
How long are you planning on spending in Moorea? It is definitly beautiful and an amazing honeymoon destination but you are probably best to try to visit a couple islands if you have the time – Moorea and Bora Bora perhaps or if the budget allows Moorea and Taha’a.
As for overwater bungalows the 2 best places to check out are going to be the Sofitel and the Hilton. The Hilton has recently renovated all their bunglaows which is great. The Sofitel is nicer if you are looking for the best beach on the island.
If you were to stay at either, they have sister resorts in Bora Bora and sometimes off you promotions if you stay at their properties on both islands which can make an excellent honeymoon!
Enjoy!
